These are very exciting times...our 1,000 solar panel arrays at CNH Industrial is the largest solar installation in urban Saskatchewan...The power they produce goes directly into the CNH Industrial plant...where it is being used to produce farm equipment while reducing their carbon footprint by 289 tonnes a year.
October 2, 2020 CNH Industrial Press Conference. The launch of our 7th and largest project CJWW and Western Producer. CNH Industrial is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of industrial goods, from tractors, combines and construction equipment, to trucks and buses, as well as powertrain solutions. The company has a demonstrated record of commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability in their operations. The Saskatoon plant produces planters, seeders, combine heads, cultivators and air carts. This project was installed by local solar energy provider MiEnergy.ca Our Press release

November 6, 2017 Saskatoon city committee on Environment, Utilities and Corporate Services moved a report that would see 13 acres of land between the Montgomery neighbourhood and Circle Drive reserved for a potential solar power plant. If approved, the plant could be operational by 2020. see story at Saskatoonnow.ca
September 18, 2017 As the Saskatoon Solar Power Demonstration Site approaches its one year anniversary, it has more than 42,000 kilowatt hours of environmentally responsible energy to show for itself and three prestigious awards including the Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development, the Rob Dumont Energy Management Award for 2016 Project of the Year, and the Canadian Electricity Association’s Leadership in External Collaboration and Partnerships.
When asked about the next steps for those involved in the project, Allyson Brady, Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Environmental Society responded, “The SES Solar Co-op (SESSC) is the first of its kind in Saskatchewan and this partnership generating renewable energy between the SESSC and a municipal government is the first of its kind. July 13, 2017 The Natural Choice for Solar in Saskatchewan There is one resource in particular of which Saskatchewan has no shortage, and a Saskatoon-based co-operative is taking advantage.
The Saskatchewan Environmental Society (SES) Solar Co-operative has been working to convert the 2,267 hours of sunshine Saskatoon gets each year into a usable power source. April 25, 2017 was the Official launch of our joint solar installation project at the Landfill Gas Power Generation Facility in Saskatoon. The solar installation is jointly owned by the SES Solar Co-operative, the City of Saskatoon, the Saskatchewan Environmental Society and Saskatchewan Polytechnic. “We have a great solar resource in Saskatchewan, one of the best in the world,” Mayor Charlie Clark told reporters. “And we also have among the highest greenhouse gas emissions in the world.” Check out some of the new reports. March 11, 2017 Bill Wardell takes the sunshine express to work. Wardell, Adviser to the SES Solar Co-op, is among a small but growing number of converts in the Saskatoon region to embrace electric vehicles, and he powers his with energy from his own solar array. Bill says he is "driving on pure sunshine"
